COVID-19 Impact on education

UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. It seeks to build peace through international cooperation in Education, the Sciences and Culture (UNESCO in Brief – Mission and Mandate, 2021). 

Covid- 19 took our world by storm. It was a crisis that terrified, disrupted, and changed life as we knew it. The children in this world were victims as there education was directly impacted and for many it stunted their growth which the results of this are still unknown. These students had no options other than to depend on their parents, caretakers, and schools to step in and help. Our government was so busy dealing with the crisis education became an afterthought. Many children do not have families with the resources to continue education virtually. Fortunately, UNESCO is an organization that is committed to the prioritization of education recovery. By establishing the Global Education Coalition they will support learning continuity in order to avoid a generational catastrophe.
